Power plant was built by VT Engines based in Lansing Michigan. VT is the premier Ford Modular Motor builder in the country. They've even supplied the motors for the fastest production car in the world, the Koenigsegg CCR. | Block: The engine is based on the Teksid modular block that was an early production block cast for Ford in Italy. It is agreed this is the strongest Aluminum block Ford ever furnished. Unfortunately they are no longer in production so these blocks have to be sourced from earlier production Cobras and Lincolns. VT modified the block to accept Darton Wet Sleeves. The M.I.D. sleeve configuration provides superior cooling to the cylinders with the coolant in contact with the external cooling fins on the sleeves. This will allow more timing to be run without risking high cylinder temperatures and detonation. The sleeves will also allow up to 30 PSI of boost!! My car will not see that anytime in the near future, but it's nice to have a "safety factor". According to VT, Bullitt 5094 is the only two valve Darton wet sleeve Mustang in existence. The sleeves provide an oversized 3.7" bore. The motor has a stock stroke and the combination provides a 5.0 displacement as opposed to the stock 4.6 displacement of the GT motors. The change from the Iron GT block to the Teksid Aluminum block will save about 100 lbs of weight in the motor. | | Crank: The motor was upgraded from the Iron GT crank to the Forged Steel, 8-Bolt, Cobra Crank with a stock stroke. With a BHJ 7.9" 8-Rib Balancer. | | Rods: Oliver Billet Steel. | | Heads: Kris Starnes Racing, Custom Race Ported, Ferrea Stainless Steel oversized valves. Manley NexTek Valve Springs. | Cams: Comp Stage 3 Blower Cams ground to VT Engines Specifications. | Lift, Intake .545, exhaust .545 | | Duration @ .006 Tappet Lift, intake 273, exhaust 277 | | Valve Timing @ .050, intake 4 BTCD, 54 ABDC, exhaust 56 BBDC, 4 ATDC |
| | Power Adder: Vortech TQ Supercharger (T-Trim Volute with Q (quite) helical cut gears. Water-Air Intercooler, 3.1" Vortech Renegade Pulley, Vortech Race Bypass Valve. | | Intake: SCT 2800 Maf, AFM Power Pipe, BBK twin 65mm Throttle Body, Bullitt Ported Intake | | Fuel System: Custom Return Style. Barry Grant King Sumo Fuel Pump and Diaphragm EFI Pressure Regulator. Custom Sumped fuel tank. -10AN Fuel and Return lines. -8AN Vent Line. Steeda Fuel Rails. | | Cooling: Three core Steeda radiator, Mezere Water Pump, Modular Cooling Mod. | | Ignition: Granatelli Motorsports Coil On Plug upgrade. Netted me 8hp and 15tq from just this swap! | | Exhaust: Kooks SS Headers 1-3/4" down tube and 3" Collector, Kooks SS X-Pipe, Ultra Flow Welded Mufflers, Custom 2-1/2" tail pipes with stock MRT Bullitt 3" tips. My car is extremely quiet for a low 10 second ride. | | Suspension: HP Performance Custom Welded Tube Frame Rails, UPR Tubular Front Suspension with 12" x 250# Eibok Coilovers, J&M Products Caster Camber Plates, , UPR U/L Control Arms, | | 4R70W Automatic Transmission and 3800 stall converter custom built by BC Automotive. 4.10 FRPP Gears, 31 Spline Traklok, Moser Axles, UPR DS Loop, FRPP Aluminum Drive Shaft. | | Wheels: Weld Draglite 3.5" and 8", Mickey Thompson ET Streets 10.5", MT Sportsman Fronts, Power Slot Rotors with Hawk Pads. Welded Axles & Battle Boxes by HP Performance | | Safety Equipment: D&D Motorsports Roll Bar. UPR Driveshaft Loop. | | Tuning: SCT Pro Racer Package w/X-Cal II Flasher, Self Tuned at HP Performance, Innovate LC-1/XD-1 permanently installed. | | Misc: Autometer Two Gauge Speedo Bezel, Autometer Fuel Pressure, Boost, and Oil Pressure + three gauge pillar pod, Stewart Warner G.U.S. Tach Shift light, Pony Express Tach Adapter, Self designed 2V Cooling Mod. | Comments: This Car is a sleeper. Looks like a stock Bullitt at a stoplight and has a "relatively" quiet exhaust note. Even the roll bar is black powder-coated to blend into the interior.
